Each year in Australia, around 1,500 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer. In most cases, the cancer is diagnosed at an advanced stage, where it is very difficult to treat. In light of February being Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, Dr Helen Green, Gynaecological Oncologist at Gold Coast Private Hospital, has created a patient fact sheet highlighting symptoms of ovarian cancer and how to get screen tested if you feel you are at risk.
