The aim of the graduate nurse program at John Fawkner Private Hospital is to provide a stepping stone for the rest of your nursing career. Your exposure will be maximized through three clinical rotations individually tailored to your preferences.

About our Graduate Program

The John Fawkner Private Hospital offer a 12-month Graduate Nurse Program for registered nurses and a 6-month Graduate Nurse program of Enrolled nurses. The Graduate Nurse Program provides a positive and supportive environment in which Graduate Nurses are encouraged to develop both clinically and professionally while gaining exposure to a variety of clinical areas. The aim is to provide a program that develops the confidence and competence of the Graduate Nurse and facilitates the transition from the role of student to Registered Nurse. We are seeking individuals who are organised, proactive, resourceful, motivated and resilient. Registered Nurse Graduate Nurse Program:
At John Fawkner Private Hospital, we offer 3 (12 mth) RN Graduate Program streams:

Theatre/DOSA includes Healthscope Perioperative Foundations Program
Oncology/Day Infusion Centre includes oncology specific study days
General Stream includes 2 six month rotations in medical and/or surgical wards.

Enrolled Nurse Graduate Program:
At John Fawkner Private Hospital, we offer 3 (6 mth) Graduate Program streams:

Theatre/DOSA includes Healthscope Perioperative Foundations Program
Oncology/Day Infusion Centre includes oncology specific study days
General Stream includes a six month rotations in medical and/or surgical wards.
