| Name : Nick Bowkett - represented by Brent Glanville Position : Program Developer Department : IT Site : Shared Services Nick Bowkett has created a cumulative trace element report which shows a graph of the test results for a farm property for up to the last 5 years. Nick identified the need following discussions with veterinary clients and created a cumulative trace element report so that veterinarians could readily access data for a specific farm for the previous 5 years. This assists veterinarians to quickly and accurately identify farm health over previous 5 years without need to scroll through, or refer back to, multiple reports. This not only saves the veterinarians time but ensures management decisions are made in a timely fashion. This has provided us with a competitive advantage in the field of veterinary farm health reporting. | |

| Name of Team : SCL Dunedin The Dunedin lab were involved in a longitudinal study which has been assessing some 1000 individuals born in Dunedin for the last 45 years. Our participation enabled the Dunedin Multidisciplinary Health & Development Research Unit (DMHDRU) team to complete the phase 45 bio-data collation within their time-frame. The process involved collection of 18 primary blood collection tubes from each of 980 people. Next was sample management, documentation and testing for 45 assays per person. We were also required to set up and validate 11 new assays. Our accurate and timely results allowed our client (DMHDRU) to commence its scientific publication on schedule. This study is world famous and the subject of a TV documentary "Why am I, the Science of us" and reflects well on us as an organisation. | |
