Kathryn’s initiatives have played a vital role in preparing the theatre complex for accreditation, whilst also aiding in staff education and compliance with state and federal legislation. Kathryn applies a solutions based, positive attitude to her everyday tasks and is always striving to better the existing processes in the operating theatres. She is a stand out employee. | |

| Name of Team : Clinical Trials Unit The Clinical Trial Unit at Newcastle Private Hospital has successfully proven itself to be a high performing unit that has embedded important medical research within a private hospital setting. This Unit is celebrating 10 years onsite – an achievement that has resulted in unique opportunities available for its patients and fostered unique relationships within the local health district including the Hunter New England Health District and Hunter Medical Research Institute. With the ongoing support of management and executive team, the Clinical Trial Unit has been successful in ensuring clinical trials are now seen as a standard part of the care provided for oncology patients and ensuring private oncology patients have equal access to the latest treatment options as patients in the public setting. Subsequently, private oncology patients have been able to remain at the Hospital to receive access to the latest treatment options in order to achieve their best possible outcomes. | |
