Her work as an Undergraduate Educator continues to inspire others to be passionate about nursing as a lifelong career. She has had over 25 years of nursing experience, working in a variety of clinical settings in both public and private which gives her a wealth of knowledge that she is always willing to share with others.. She brings an optimism and energetic care to her patients she comes in contact with. Her clinical skills combined with her interpersonal excellence means her patients always receive excellent care. This was again demonstrated when Peta was awarded a BUPA patient award for excellence in care in . Peta goes out of her way to build relationships between the team, across units and specialties. She is always willing to lend a hand to any member of staff in need and dedicated to sharing her knowledge through mandatory training assessments and more complex clinical skills guidance and support. | |

| Name of Team : Oncology working party Macalister & Thompson Wards The oncology working party has been working to ensure patient safety with the development of acytotoxic / immunotherapy checking procedure for both IV/IM/SC and oral medications with an integrated time out procedure. Using a time out procedure is recognised as "gold standard" in cytotoxic / immunotherapy administration to maintain patient safety. This ensures patient health and safety and decreases risks with a very high risk procedure. The working party have worked on procedure that reduces the risk of a very high risk procedure, ulitmately improving patient outcomes. | |
