17 July 2020
Private hospital operator Healthscope will care for 18 residents from Menarock LIFE’s Essendon Aged Care at La Trobe Private Hospital, as part of the effort to manage the COVID-19 outbreak at the aged care facility.
Healthscope has worked with Menarock LIFE, Commonwealth and State Health departments, and the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission to ensure that the residents are safely and comfortably moved into La Trobe Private.
Healthscope CEO Steven Rubic said that detailed arrangements had been made in recent days to ensure La Trobe Private is ready to care for these individuals, with trained nursing staff and all appropriate comfort, safety and hygiene protocols in place.
Mr Rubic said the La Trobe Private team was committed to ensuring their time at the facility was as comfortable as possible.
“Since the COVID-19 pandemic first landed in Australia, Healthscope has made its
people and facilities available to fight this unprecedented health crisis,” Mr Rubic
said.
“We thank our dedicated, highly trained staff at La Trobe Private Hospital, who are looking forward to ensuring these residents receive the best possible care during their time with us.”
“Our collaboration with both State and Commonwealth health authorities has been one positive aspect of this pandemic and we look forward to continuing to play our role in the wider COVID-19 response.”
