New General Manager appointed for Knox Private Hospital
12 March 2020
Private Hospital operator Healthscope has appointed Vincent Borg as the General Manager of its flagship facility Knox Private Hospital, and heading up Healthscope’s Eastern Hospital Cluster.
Mr Borg comes to Knox Private with over 20 years in senior healthcare leadership roles. He most recently was responsible for developing a regional health care business in the Middle East, and for advancing a specialised musculoskeletal hospital in Bangkok. Prior to this, Mr Borg held roles including Executive Director of Rehabilitation and Mental Health at Epworth and Executive Director of Epworth Eastern.
Healthscope State General Manager Ian Grisold said he was delighted to welcome Mr Borg to the Healthscope team.
“We are thrilled that someone with Vincent’s deep knowledge and experience is joining our team. Vincent is a highly respected health executive, and during his time at Epworth achieved substantial improvements in patient, staff and doctor satisfaction levels,” Mr Grisold said.
Mr Borg said he was excited to take the reins at one of Healthscope’s flagship Victorian facilities.
“It’s a great privilege to be joining a hospital that boasts world-class facilities and technology, as well as a great team of staff and clinicians,” Mr Borg said.
“COVID-19 means we are working a little bit differently at present, as Knox Private plays its part in the state’s pandemic response plan.
“My immediate priority is to work with our staff and doctors to help manage this oncein-a-century health crisis.”
“And longer term, my goal is to ensure that Knox Private continues to grow and serve the increasing health needs of the community, giving our patients the best possible care and treatment.”
Knox Private has undergone a substantial upgrade of its facilities, opening a new Emergency Department in March this year, and a new dedicate day Procedure Centre in January 2020. The next phase of Knox Private’s expansion will include an additional Cardiac Catheter Lab and an upgrade of original Cardiac Catheter Lab.
