WA’s Mount Hospital specialists to consult at Jupiter Health GP clinics

In a health industry first, patients of Western Australian GP group Jupiter Health and Medical Services will have direct, on-site access to leading Mount Hospital specialists.

Under the new agreement between the two healthcare providers, Mount Hospital specialists and surgeons covering orthopedics, cardiology, bariatrics and vascular have begun consulting exclusively at five Jupiter Health GP locations - Harvest Lakes, Madeley, Alkimos, Singleton and Perth CBD.

Mount Hospital General Manager Reza Barzegari said, “Mount Hospital is delighted to be collaborating with the Jupiter Health network to bring the care of Specialists closer to patients throughout WA.

“Mount’s world class consultants have a great reputation across WA and will be a valuable resource and addition to this already strong team of GPs. We are proud to be the first private Hospital to partner through an exclusive collaboration such as this.”

The arrangement makes the process of seeing specialist doctors more convenient for patients, letting patients access specialist care without needing to travel to a separate, additional appointment.

Jupiter Health was founded in 2011 and is now one of the largest networks of GPs in Western Australia. Health Director Dr Michael Gendy said the arrangement would bring specialist care closer to patients who need it most.

“I am beyond excited for our new partnership with Mount Hospital, which will allow Jupiter Health to further enhance the high quality, convenient and affordable medical service we already offer our patients,” Dr Gendy said.

“Since day one, Jupiter has offered top-level GP services, and we are proud of the service we provide to our community. Now patients will be able to see a great specialist team in our rooms. The handover from the specialist to their regular GP for the aftercare will also be more efficient than ever,” he added.

“It is very exciting indeed to see GPs and specialists working next door to each other, closing that gap to provide the best service they can offer to their patients.”
